Race Day
Captains Meeting
Lively Dragon will hold a captains
meeting at every event 45 minutes before the first scheduled race. At
least one person (usually the captain) should do their best to attend this
meeting. We will run through the general rules of the event as well as the
format of the races. This meeting will take place close to the
registration table.
Each person should bring:
Sunscreen
Lawn chair
Change of Clothes
Change of Shoes
Towel

Water and Food Vendors will be available on sites.
Park entrance fee
Each team
should bring:

place. It also provides shelter from the sun and rain. (((ssshhhhh...do
not say the 'R' word!))))]
Races happen rain or shine

Roll of toilet paper...just in case
When to arrive
We ask that teams be in the marshal area 15 mins prior to your race
time. It is the captains responsibility to ensure that their team is on
time. Each person is usually expected to be at the park at least one hour
prior to your first scheduled race.
Waivers
There will be one set of waivers (three forms) for every paddler to
sign. This set of forms will suffice for the trio of Lively Dragon
Events. All waivers need to be handed in at the registration table at
least one hour before your scheduled race time.
Parking
Everyone should allow plenty of time for parking. Car pooling is
strongly encouraged! There will be a park entrance fee to Kelso and Christie
Conservation Area. There will be a $5 parking fee at Lively Dragon
Waterfest Event. Every team captain will receive one free
parking pass.
Race
Schedule
The full race
schedule will be posted as soon possible before Race Day, usually a couple of
days beforehand. Each team will be guaranteed 3 races on Race Day. The first
race of the day will be at 9am. Teams must assemble 15 minutes before each of
their scheduled races at the marshalling area to load. There will be a short
break for lunch and Opening Ceremonies. Please watch for updates on each
individual race websites.
Race Rules &
Disputes
Please listen to and respect the Race Officials and Judges at all times.
PFDs/life jackets must be worn at all times while in the boat by all
participants. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the team
during that race and no time will be scored.
Marshalling at the
Docks
Each team must assemble at the dock and be ready to load at least 15 minutes
before each of their scheduled races. We cannot wait for missing paddlers. A
minimum of 8 female paddlers and 1 drummer and equipment is required.
No question
is a stupid question... please ask if you do not know...
